Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival Draws Huge Crowds at The Terminal
Thousands of New York City area denizens descended on Chelsea this past Saturday for the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival at The Tunnel. The event featured a lively collection of alcohol and food vendors and attendees who were ready to party. And with more than 100 beer, bourbon, and food vendors around, there were plenty of choices.
I attended the first of the three sessions on Saturday and focused primarily on the food being served, although there were a ton of delicious bourbon and beer options to choose from. Among the food vendors, Handsome Devil (which won people's choice at the 2017 NYCWFF Backyard BBQ) provided a lot of the BBQ bites at multiple stations, including outstanding whole hog and bacon-wrapped meatballs.
Other food vendors that I greatly enjoyed were the Ribs Within team, which served mouth-watering bacon roses, and The Trestle, which served incredible bacon burnt ends. Other quality vendors included NYC BBQ legend Hill Country, which served brisket sliders; Certe catering's inventive resurrection of NYC restaurant Schrafft's, which served creamed pork belly and bacon over garlic clam shingles; and Kloby's Smokehouse from the Baltimore area, which served wonderful whole hog.
If this event sounds up your alley but you aren't located near NYC, you might have a chance to hit it up elsewhere. The Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival is scheduled to visit 12 more cities this year, including new locations Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Wilmington, NC, so be sure to check the schedule to see it's coming to a city near you. There's also a good chance it will be back in NYC early next year!
